THE SATIN DOLLS BAND is the inspiration of vocalist Carolyn Lee Jones’ and her successful HOORAY FOR THE GIRLS cabaret-jazz shows celebrating women composers, lyricists, librettists and singers of the 20th century and beyond. The Satin Dolls Band performs classic jazz favorites, blues, broadway, R&B, a touch of country, original compositions and retro-pop favorites with a jazzy twist. Performances include: The Dallas Museum Of Art, DMA Late Nights, The Kitchen Cafe  The Balcony Club and Sammons Center For The Arts Cabaret Series.

The band’s name is a nod to the 1953 jazz song Satin Doll, composed by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. The song has been recorded by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Blossom Dearie and other well-known male and female recording artists.
