The New Collection, was Dallas Metroplex’s premiere a cappella vocal jazz group comprised of professional singers, music educators, business people and students. A non-profit 501(c)(3) group, The New Collection was dedicated to promoting the art of vocal jazz.This extraordinary 28 voice jazz ensemble thrilled audiences of all ages with their music. The New Collection was comprised of singers located in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Denton metroplex directed by Paris Rutherford, professor emeritus of Vocal Jazz at The University Of North Texas. This recording features many favorites such as; The Beatles Penny Lane, Al Jarreau and Chick Correa’s Spain and other classics from Neil Hefty, Michel LeGrand, Alan and Marilyn Bergman.
